Hi, when i am typing into windows word (or any other document for that matter) my laptop seems to save what i have just written, this puts the cursor to another part of the document. It means i could be typing (and not looking at the screen) then suddenly i am typing over text i had written 2 paragraphs before.

Is there somewhere in the laptop setting that will stop this occuring?

Please try a quick fix and let me know if the situation improves.

Disable the touchpad. On my Acer this is done by holding Fn and F7.

Yes - it's worth a quick try if you have a mouse.

Its funny you should say that, because that happens to me all the time. I asked someone else what they thought it was, and they said it was probably because I had touched the arrow keys. No, I haven't. Funnily enough, it has also happened whilst typing out this reply, and it is well annoying. I can't wait to find out why this happens! Although it doesn't save what I have typed, I find that I am typing in a straight line, then all of a sudden, I am typing in a line about three paragraphs back. Why? someone must know?
I think Ethel is probably right. Stick a post it note over the touchpad and try again.
