1 x 1 x 35 = 35cubic feet., which is roughly 1.3cu yds or 1 cu. mtr.
A 1 ton bulk bag is around 0.6 cu mtr, so 2 tons would do the job with some over.
Hope that helps Pharlap

Thanks for that landscaper.
If I wanted to buy the Dolly bags of shingle from a garden centre, how many bags would your'e answer equate to. 2 tons sounds to big for my van
If you are in England the bags are usually 20kg, so you will need 50 bags per cu mtr. and that sould be sufficient. I take it that the shingle is for drainage, so I would tend to buy from a Builders centre, which should be cheaper.

Landscaper2. Thanks for the quick answers, its helped me very much.
Oops, sorry should have said you'll need 50 bags per ton, so you'll need around 75 bags - foggy brain, been a long day!
