I am running on windows me, i have tried to defrag my pc many times now in windows and norton, it gets to 78% and freezes my pc and will not go any further

Most of those utilities on winme never worked for me.... I just gave up on it...can u live without the defrag?

You can alway's try defrag in safe mode,thats what i had to do when something kept cutting in on defrag.reboot pc,press F8 before pc splash screen starts then choose boot in safe mode.........

peanut's advice is sound - use Safe Mode. Before Defragging it's recommended to run Scan Disk and Disk clean up first.
