I have a cooker hood with one of those filters in that you change every now and then. Do they also need a one of those pipe things that extracts the steam outside?

thats wot i thought. the council building inspector wont give me building regs till i get one fitted.
Tried to tell him that but he just ignored me.
Has your kitchen got a window or door?
Is your house a new dwelling or an improved one?

Some of the regs have changed, like you now have to have a fan in the bathroom and toilet....

I would vent it outside anyways as it stops condensation in your kitchen and it lets all your neighbours know what you've got for dinner....
