Well my sister rang in hysterics a few days later ....my step father had rung her and happened to mention to her that I had bought myself something nice from .....wait for it......
Anne Summers , and he did say he wasn't sure that was the shops name !
He found it funny the next time we were in the mall and I pointed out the Anne Summers shop to him. :-)

The only time I've been in an Ann Summers was to buy a pressie for a relative. I was stopped from going in the "adult" section because I had one of the junior overalls with me. He was only a few weeks old and I told the assistant I was 100% certain he wouldn't be traumatised but she wouldn't let me in! I voted with my feet and haven't darkened their doors again.
A few years ago I was working in Paris for a few days. I had a couple of hours to myself so I decided I would purchase some fine French lingerie for my wife. As I entered the shop I was approached by a mature and stunningly beautiful lady. She was extremely helpful, pulling out from beneath the glass counters numerous ensembles.
Some of them were frightfully expensive, but truly lovely rich satins and the finest filigree laces. I would say, in all honesty, that the womans tastes were impeccable and I willingly allowed her to make some recommendations. She wrapped each item in colourful gossamer style tissues, placed them in a luxurious burgundy box with gold embossing and deep blue piping. Finally, she tied the box with braided gold threads. The presentation was magnificent. I dont think bringing a box home from Tiffanys would have been met with any more enthusiasm.
As my wife delicately unwrapped her new vtements I sat there smiling, quite proud of my selections (with the help of my secret shopper).
My wife was delighted. She was as impressed with the packaging as my selections. As she gently ran her fingers through the silken materials, she looked at the box again, then up at me. Darling, where did you say you got these? I told her the name of the shop, just along Rue St. Honore. She passed one of the camisoles to me. As I felt the luxurious material, I noticed the small discreet label. Clearly embossed on the material were the logo and trade name of Ann Summers!

Bigmamma: Good morning to you! I always tried to do nice things, but by no fault of my own, sometimes they simply never went to plan. But I always got an 'A' for my effort.
That's the problem with our world...not enough romanticism!
By the way...you asking me about my friend with MS reminded me to go through some of the photos I took of her trip. How sad it is that some of our diseases cannot be controlled. I truly hurt for each and every moment of that journey. Bless her heart.
Be well
