Was the Angel Gabriel, male or female?

I ask because at lunchtime I say old Timmy Wonacott on Bargain Hunt discuss a mural in a church and he described the Angel Gabrielle as a "she". Which has confused me as I thought she was a he.

While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
All seated on the ground,
The angel of the Lord came down,
And glory shone around,
And glory shone around.
Fear not! said HE, for mighty dread
Had seized their troubled mind.
Glad tidings of great joy I bring
To you and all mankind
To you and all mankind.

The angel Gabriel appears in the Book of Daniel in the Hebrew Bible and is referred to as he. I could add that in modern time, when I've attended services with my Morman friends, they have also referred to Gabriel as 'he.' I notice in your message, you've used the French feminine spelling of Gabrielle. May I ask please, have you seen this written somewhere?

however, I imagine an Archangngel to be asexual,
Matthew 22;30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
Angels are sexless but whenever they have been given a gender I suppose its been male but has this been because it has been referred to as he??? How do you refer to someone when they are asexual.
Therefore you would assume archangels were male as well even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses
