English Language
5 Answers
I'm wondering how many other people out there who wonder & ponder about our English Language. Sir Menzies Campbell has been in the news a lot lately which set me thinking. How on earth can Menzies become Mingis? I have noticed others too,eg. Beauchamp is pronounced Beecham, Belvoir is pronounced Beever, Chalmondely becomes Chumley. Is this a ''Clarse'' thing I wonder after all Tom Jones is Tom Jones & Fred Smith is Fred Smith. I welcome your comments on this.WR.
