My dad got fired after 26 years of service in construction. The reason was just beacuse they didnt ned him anymore. So is there a type of relief fund or something similar for my dad? what should he do? should we get a lawyer?

You cannot fire someone just because you don't need them anymore, this would be redundancy surely. In which case, he would be entitled to redundancy pay.

Are you in the UK and are you sure that there was no other reason given?
He should have been given a letter outlining the reason for his dismissal and if it is as you state, that reason is 'redundancy'. In which case he is entitled to a redundancy payment from the employer. In addition he should have been given appropriate notice in writing before this happened of as at least 12 weeks (maybe more, depending what his contract says), given his long length of service.
