I'm borrowing a family member's Nissan Primera this week, but I can't get the CD player to work.

Whenever I load a CD the display reads "disc error" and it switches back to radio.

What's wrong?

Are these discs you have recorded yourself? Some players will not read these.

No, I know what you mean though. The CD player in my own car is one of those type.

No, the CDs I've tried are all shop bought ones that work fine in my own car. I just can't fathom what's wrong.

Any ideas?

I've tried 4 different CDs and all produce the "disc error" message, yet they play perfectly fine in all other CD players.

I don't believe it's the discs that are at fault. Could something be wriong with the player?
