c class mercedes side light bulb

can anyone help me? i own a year 2000 c class (w202 model) with factory fitted xenon headlamps. i'm struggling locating the side lamp bulb so i can replace it.
the diagram in the owners manual points out its location in the headlamp unit but i cant find it !!

Without wirshing to be a smart alec, if you switch on the sidelights,check the position of the bulb by the one which is working,the other one will be in the same position in the other lamp. Hope this makes sense. Eric.

eric, i forgot to say. ive already tried this. thats whats so frustrating. the side lamp bulb looks to be in between the xenon headlamp and the high beam bulb but looking from the back of the unit i cant see it or see how to access it.
