I used to want to be an actor, and one of the reasons I was against the conservatives was because i was under the impression that they were going to cut funding for performing arts, but I have been looking at their policies on their website and there is no mention of this. If it's true, are there other policies they're not advertising publicly an if yes, what are they?

Very little of hwat the Tories say gets as far as being made into any form of policy.

A recent example was the announcement that the Torires would scrap free admissions to Galleries and Museums which Labour had introduced. After an outcry and it was pointed out it was hardly a vote winning idea, they made a dramatic u-turn.

I wouldn't worry too much seal! the Tories are a shambles and it will be several years until they are back in power.
tories will win soon, with any luck. I hope they do cut spending on the arts, no offence but we need the money for the NHS !

Well I'd vote Labour then Shomer fundamental Tory philosophy is to tax less and spend less on public services.

See Inheritance tax - the moment they thought they could raise a large amount of money the most important thing they could think of to spend it on was to abolish inheritance tax in order to subsidise those about to inherit over a quarter of a million pounds!

Far more important than the NHS!
The problems in the NHS aren't really related to funding (notice the billions poured into the service by both the Conservatives and New Labour over the past 15-20 years) so much as management.

Anyway, the Tories during the 80s did cut significantly on arts funding (or they certainly did with film). But I doubt anyone would push for taking that much further, as it's not exactly a vote winner and there's not really much point to it.
