what are the biggest threats facing the large investment banks in the near future

Well I would say that property is an issue as they are cutting back on their property risk exposure. So long as the clients is bearing the risk OK but the banks are moving away from property risk thmselves. As for other markets not sure but anything to do with the Middle East is an issue, e.g. Sudan citizens can be leant money but if sanctions come into force then many people are looking to lose a lot of money as the Dollar slips.
