Watching a show on BBC2 about India killing baby girls and aborting them very late due to the dowry system whereby girls cost a kings ransom to marry off.

I must admit I only thought this kind of infanticide only went on in China.

With nearly half of mankind being Indian or Chinese, do you think this is actually "Gods way" or some macabre nature to stop world population growth?

Also do you think they will be a rise of gay Indian and Chinamen in the forthcoming years?

An article in the papers suggested that pregnancy scans should not be disclosed , as they revealed the sex of the foetus. Allowing Baby girls to be aborted.

Pregnancy scans in India are not allowed to tell the sex of the baby but the private ones can and do. Presumably they also do abortions so I guess it's some kind of revenue generator.

No, this is not God's way. This is a social and cultural problem.

even in this country some hospital will not disclose the sex of a baby at scan in case the parents decide to terminate.

I even know of a 'mother' who wanted to abort her child when finding out it was a boy.

The Luton & Dunstable hospital wont tell parents what sex their baby will be. According to some of the midwives who work there, this is the very reason why!x
