Transcendental Meditation

Anyone know anything about this? It sounds very interesting but a fee of nearly 1400 for four 1.5 hour instruction sessions seems ridiculous. It makes it look like a money-making scam. How can they possibly justify such high fees? See http://www.t-m.org.uk/learning.shtml

I have read books on meditation and have done quite a bit in the past but these people claim TM is different from and more effective than some other forms of meditation. For the amount they charge, I can't see it can be anything other than a scam but I was interested to hear people's experiences of it.
some controversy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcendental_Me ditation
(see about half way down the page).
Can I just add that for a mere half what they're charging I'll teach you the secret of life an achieving one-ness with the Godhead, and we can spend a month on it if you like.

What a bargain Whickerman. I am considering taking up your offer but I wonder if anyone else is prepared to make a better offer. I would consider just going for the secret of life and not bothering with the Godhead if that would mean a healthy discount. Although, I am in possession of an ancient text that suggests that the secret of life is "42".
Try this instead. Far cheaper.
