top answer, thanks, I feel more secure now
It depends
That would be pushing it, as there probably won't be a collection on Sunday and yo will have to wait until Monday before it even starts it's journey. It could also be delayed with the backlog that these workshy layabouts have created by striking.

If it's important you would be best sending it by regstered post. Expensive but you know it will get there.
i had a letter posted to me first class yesterday and i didn't receive it today, not sure if that helps or not ;-)

thanks mc fluff. Was it from a girl called meredith from cambridge? they're faster than i thought.

Is special delivery still offered at the moment?
Are you in Cambridge ? Do you know The Pickerel ?
lol nope don't think so, although i had a special next day delivery iten arrive on time this morning, so that bits working at least
wlll it depends if the posties are slacking again .

oops striking i mean .

i guess theyre on ot now to clear the post they didnt deliver at single wage rate.
power to the workers eh ????lol
There are no longer Sunday collections (anywhere), so it will be collected Monday and will be delivered to most UK addresses on Tuesday, Wednesday at worst.

The backlog is of bulk mail - junk mail if you like . Normal post is generally getting through on normal timescales.

Registered post hasn't existed for years. Special Delivery which is one of the replacements for it is guaranteed to be delivered next day (4.30 for a normal letter). However if the recipient isn't in, it won't get delivered and the guarantee is lost.

thanks. funny, eh? spend 4 quid to get it to them, they aint in so they dont get it, if you'd just paid the normal fee it woulda got there lol.
my mate's postie didnt want him to miss his package so popped it in his wheelie bin for him 'to keep the rain off'. You can guess the rest.........
a postman friend has just told me they are thinking about striking again very soon, one of the conditions brought in at the last strike was the working day started at 8.30 instead of 4.30 which was agreed and they now want it changing so they can start at 4.30 on a saturday so they can have the rest of the day to themselves

never bloody happy
