mcafee pc protection plus

i bought the mcafee protection plus 2007 from pc world yesterday, on their recommendation, installed it and it tells me that i'm not protected against viruses even though it says on box protected against viruses,hackers,spyware etc! when i double click the mcafee icon it tells me i need to upgrade at a cost of �50, how can this be right. anyone advise on what i should do, like take it back to pc world and complain. thanks for any input on this.

Typical PC World. Theyre all thick as >:( Yea, I think you shoud take it back and explain the situation, and if you DO need to upgrade, get a refund off them as THEY reccomended the Software to you!

download for free AVG - www.avg.com or may be www.avg.co.uk

download it - it is great and free. however before you do that you need to uninstall your last mcfee protection plus

To uninstall

Settings

Control Panel

Go to Add and Remove Hardware

Click onto McFee and delete - this has to be done before you put AVG - Good luck

Adaware is for spyware etc

WinPatrol to monitor my PC

have downloaded avg but it asks for licence/serial number, where can i get that from.thanks
