i was wanting to know how i clean the plates of my straighteners without making my hair go static.i have cleaned them once before just with a damp cloth (they were switched off of course) but they made my hair go static for the next week or so (which is a nightmare!!!) The instructions just say i shouldn't scrape the plates because it'll remove the coating or something but it doesnt say exactly how i should clean them. Please help!! Thanks

Baby wipes are the best thing to use and then dry them with a towel. This is all I use and it's never made a difference to the effect they have on my hair afterwards. Hope this helps. :o)
I use baby wipes on mine too,I do it whilst they are still slightly warm to make it easier.

Thank you!!! I'll try that.
Hi, I use ceramic hob cleaner on mine - they come up brilliantly provided of course they are ceramic to start with!
Hi.
I use shampoo to clean mine. Clean them when they are warm with shampoo onto a cloth. Wipe a few times and dry.
Do this after using them, not just before using them.
