I began to get completely relaxed but not sleepy, and only aware of her voice, unfortunately at the time I had a terrible chest infection and had a coughing fit just at that point. She said that I went under very easily and that she probably would have made a bit of progress. I have no idea if it would have worked as I didn't go again.
DSJ did your husbands doctor recommend a hypnotist?
How do you find a reputable one? I dont know anyone who has tried this method. I would dearly love to stop smoking, but nothing I have tried has worked. I am weak and have no willpower. Would I be expecting too much if I said I wanted the hypnotist to stop me wanting a cigarette? Surely it is not that easy? (she asks, hopefully)

My husband's doctor (this was in Australia) recommended a realiable hypnotherapist by writing a name & address down on a piece of paper. He was not allowed to tell him verbally! I seem to recall that my husband went for two half hour sessions a week apart. It really has been brilliant & the smell of smoke makes hubby feel quite ill.
