Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Seth I hold a PhD in Statistics and (until recently) headed a university mathematics unit. I was introduced to EV about 14 grids ago and have submitted 12 of these crosswords to date. I find them absolutely awesome and the Sin of the Beast must rank among the very best!

Seth, thank you for this posting.
I have been doing/attempting EV crosswords for several years now, and I (amongst others on this site) rate them very highly. Last week's one on the fruit machine theme was extremely elegant and clever. Some of them need days to complete; in the past we had a couple of weeks within which to submit solutions. A few months ago this was reduced to 5 days, and, as of last week is now down to 4 days ! And yet the solution is not printed for a further 10 days.....can you please explain why ? I am sure that the compilers of these gems would appreciate the fact that there might be several more submitted entries. Is there any possibility that this entry period can be reextended ?

Just like to echo the comments above about E.Vs. I've been attempting them for nine years and never cease to be amazed at the ingenuity ( sadism! ) of the compilers.

I would like to add my thanks for the (far too) many enjoyably frustrating hours spent on EV crosswords.
I was introduced to them on this site about six months ago.. they really are so clever and inventive...and The Sin of the Beast was outstanding.
