I live in a rural area, down a small lane. Each house, there are 6 of them, have enough room to park their vehicles etc. However, I have not been in mine for long and notice that whereas others have hedges or garages mine is just grass. This means that all and sundry use it to park on or turn round in etc. I don't mean to be a bad neighbour, but when they have chosen to minimise their parking space why use mine. I would like to give it some sort of formality so that people realise that there are people living in the house and it is the parking area for them. How can I do it quite cheaply?

Is there room for a couple of flower pots? I have a patch of stone chips at the end of my drive and kept finding dog dirt! I put down a couple of pots with pansy and primula and hey presto the dogs (or their owners!) seem to respect it as part of my property and keep out.

Alternatively you could buy chain fencing (it is really plastic and quite cheap) which you could pull over when you go out and then upclip to let you drive onto your own bit.

Thank you Muriel, why did I not think of plant pots? It's not like I don't have enough of them in my garden..... sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees and it takes a fresh mind to show you what was there all along!!
