Freeview Boxes
2 Answers
I have bad reception on analogue tv but this doesnt usually matter because I have Sky! As my Sky box has given up the ghost and I have to wait until next week for an engineer I was thinking about getting a freeview box for the time being. I've heard that if you have bad reception normally (probably due to us living in the bottom of a vally so to speak), then you won't get good reception from freeview. However, someone also mentioned you can buy a special freeview booster aerial and I just wondered if anyone had used one of these and if they actually helped or not. Not bothered about having the clearest picture ever, just want watchable TV!! And a weekend without TV sounds like a nightmare (not that I let TV rule my life or anything!!).

bad analog normally indicates terrible digital
first see if you "should" be able to

I suppose Xmas is coming .... so if you buy a cheap box ... you could always give it to someone as a prezzie.
Currently I'm watching my PC fitted with a digital USB dongle connected to an amplified digital ariel - works a treat - but the ariel cost the same as the freeview dongle so it's an expensive option (esp if only for a week)
