Remarrying
1 Answers
My divorce has just been finalised and am remarrying in a few weeks time. I am still called by my previous husbands surname but when I remarry I would like to remarry using my maiden name. Can I do this without legally changing my name back to my maiden name. I don't think there is much point changing my name back to my maiden name because when I marry I will be changing it to my new husbands name. I really don't want my old married name on my new wedding certificate or to be used when we say our vows.

A s is stands your birth certificate is what they use to fill in the licence ... you only have to produce confirmation of your divorce, and these details are not included on the new marriage certificate. I think most people tend to have their maiden and other names they have been known by but if in doubt check with the Registrar as they will know the facts.
