Hiya Leg
I read about it ageees ago - in the metro or london lite. I vaguely remembered the name and because mamar asked so nicely on the other thread googled it to double check...I think you can go on and be whoever you want to be - so a rock star, PM etc etc. I haven't looked at the actual website because I don't get stuff like that and just prefer chatting drivel on here :) but I've not read anything about peadophiles associated with it.

Second life
http://secondlife.com/whatis/
It is a legitimate site where millions of people happily live a virtual life.
There has been recent press reports about a paedophile ring within the community but the majority of users were unaware of it.

Being a place where you can live out your fantasies, there are inevitably some disturbing ones. As well as the aforementioned paedophilia, there are reputedly a bunch of people who pretend to have been abused as children (or to be abused children). Plus that "sexy lady" avatar you might fancy...
Haven't there been recent reports that the UK police want a presence in Second Life?
Personally, I haven't got enough hours to do everything I want to do in my first life, let alone having a second - though I can see the appeal to some.

That Sky news clip is pretty disturbing. Ok we already know there are paedos out there and they will do what they do in a virtual world, but what I hate is:
-pseudo 'experts' claiming it definitely leads to abuse in the real world (it might) without any evidence or research to back it up
-Unquestioned 'thought policing' because these people are thinking bad things. The police are there to stop crime, not control thoughts.
Personally, I'd rather see those seedy elements shut down. But convicting people of 'thought' crimes?.............
