Getting dollars without paying fees
7 Answers
I write for two magazines based in New York, and they pay me in dollar cheques.
My bank is charging me 10.00 per cheque to convert them to sterling, which I think is a hefty amount.
Is there any way i can get my payment without paying this fee every time?
I am sure this is a common situation - and there is a simple way out of it, but I need to know what that is please.

Whilst they do charge a fee it's a lot less than 10 unless it's a really big cheque
