dog tasting other dogs urine
2 Answers
my intact male setter is constantly annoying my intact female collie especially when she is outside to wee, he's trying to lick her as she passes urine and licks her vagina when she is in the house. She obviously doesnt like it and there has been a few fights since he started doing it a couple of days ago. having to keep them separate now.
he's 2 and she is 18 mths ( only had her 2 months) she finshed her season just under the 2 months ago.
they are both booked to be "done" in the next couple of weeks but what has started it and why is he doing it.?
how do I stop it before one of them gets hurt?

Very normal and it will continue until they are both neutered. She will continue to get angry because she does not want his advances.
I would keep them separate until at least two weeks after they are both neutured.

yes disgusting behaviour isnt it, and I can understand her getting irritated by it. But it is perfectly natural, you could try spraying her with some of the spray they use for when they are in season, dont know if it will work, just an idea. My old boy didnt go as far as to lick my female, but he was very interested in her urine, and insisted on doing his bit over the top of it.
Got this all to come with my young man, oh deep joy!!
