Did a firewalk for charity which was fantastic & I could understand the how & why my feet didn't burn. However, the next charity fund raiser is a walk on glass & I can't get my head round this one. Obviously it wouldn't be allowed if it was dangerous but how does it work?

Why did your feet not get burnt?
Could be sugar glass you're walking on (That fake glass they use in films) or it could be ballotini (glass balls)
Think about the "lying on a bed of nails" stunt. If an average person has a weight of 800 Newtons and lies on 800 nails then each nail has a force of only 1 Newton pushing up: not enough to penetrate the skin. Now imagine the stunt with only 8 nails!
I'm assuming the glass is broken? This doesn't sound like a sensible charity fund-raiser to me!
The pieces of broken glass are mostly flat so the sharp edges don't point upwards. You still need to tread fairly carefully though.
Do the rules say anything about doing it without yer shoes on? If not I would keep em on.
yeah, that'll be quite a challenge. Walking on broken glass with your shoes on.
I did a firewalk for charity once. We left the fire for a couple of weeks, just to make sure it was out. Then we did the glass walk thing. With wellies on.
Next week, we up the ante. Nail bed. 6 nails. Just grinding all the nails down right now.
Whatt??????????????????
Hmmm . . . that gives me an idea for a charity fund raiser that wouldn't require any nails.

Next!
some guy walked on knives up stairs. it all about weight distribution i think.
