I seem to remember a kids programme , must be late 70's / early 80's, in which a kid climbs over a wall & steps into a world where everything is drawn in chalk, possibly including him. I know I'm not alone in remembering this, as a few of my colleagues can recall this show as well, but none of us can remember what the damn thing was called. Can anyone help us please???
This was narrated by Bernard Cribbins and was called "Simon in the land of chalk drawings" it was Canadian I think.
It was shown in the late 70's. The theme song "And you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true. Simon would climb over the garden wall to reach the land of chalk drawings.
Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings was made by British company Film Fair and directed by Ivor ( Magic Roundabout / Wombles / Paddington / Postman Pat ) Wood. It was relesed on video tape years ago, but you may well still track down copies. There are stories that the series was the origin of the name for band "Badly Drawn Boy"
