The copper coil
1 Answers
I had a copper coil inserted back in August, and had a check up a few weeks ago by the nurse who told me it was still in place and OK.
However the other morning I woke up and on the edge of the bed was what looked like copper coloured wire, almost like what you would find in a scouring pad, not very thick. It was tangled up and not very much of it. I am worried now that this might have come from the coil and therefore the coil has now become ineffective.
Obviously I havent gone to the Drs as yet because it could just be something that has managed to get into the bed and I dont want to embarrass myself by taking in something that is nothing to do with the coil.
Has anyone heard of this happening before?

If this had happened you would have been in an awful lot of pain and would have bled. Coils look like a metal T shape in most cases soi would check on line to see what they look like if you weren't shown before it was inserted. If you are still worried I would contact your doctor or local gum clinic but you wont need to take what was on your bed with you.
