Theft of mobile phone

My daughter has lost or had hers stolen from her bag at school,

is it worthwhile ringing the phone company up and getting it stopped ??
and if i do will it render it useless??
or am i wasting my time?

Definately call them and they can stop anyone else from using it. As a tip though when you get a replacement phone make a note of your imei number which is a security number specific to the phone. It makes it easier to stop anyone else using it if reported as lost. You can get this on any mobile phone by dialling *#06# and making a note of the number for safekeeping. Good Luck
