Does anyone remember Vogel bread? I can remember it as a sliced loaf in the supermarket over 20 years ago and that it made delicious toast. Never seen it since :-(
Hi Vinny100-2, Would that be as a wrapped sliced loaf? Can't say Iv'e ever seen it in Sainsburys around here. (mind you I've never really been looking) If so It'll be large boiled eggs and Vogel soldiers for tea in our house tonight! Mmmm.
Hope this link works carol,if it does, print it out and show your local sainsburys manager !! if not just go on line to sainsburys and put in search vogel bread .(:)
We buy their mixed grain brown loaf in our local Budgens so it's still about and it's just about the most delicious & satisfying bread I've ever eaten. Have also seen it occasionally in Sainsburys. Suggest you collar the manager of your nearest supermarket and make a nuisance of yourself with him until he stocks it! . It does seem to be increasing in popularity in our locality as you have to get into Budgens early to buy it before it sells out and they now seem to be ordering it in greater quantities.
Yes I have also seen it in Budgens and it was reduced to 50p a loaf as it was best before (sell by date was the same day as I saw it at 50p!) that day. It looked interesting but had white flour in and was sliced. I don't like sliced bread as it does not last as long!
vogel bread ,three tastes, made under licence by Goswells Bakery in Docklands London , I have found it available in some Summerfields , Tescos, Morrisons and Sainsburys usually well hidden away as they don`t want to lose it. So ask!!!
