Can anyone tell me if there was a bible translation written in the 1970s to appeal to African-Americans? I remember studying English Language and there was an excerpt from a bible that had slang 'jive' talk words in it.

Don't know that one, but there was a "Scouse Bible," and had such gems in it as Jesus saying, "It takes a man to foller me, norra shirt button."
