my gas hob has one ring that will only simmer and not increase its flame unlike the other three rings which work fine so i suspect the control knob or gas tap is the likely area. any ideas ? tx in advance

More than likely to be a partial blockage of either the injector in the spillage tray under the burner or molycotte in the valve partially blocking the pathways.
