However, I bet if you asked the BBC they would probably say something to the effect of "Paul had to sell the B & B to his father in order for him to help him with his gambling debts. We chose not to show this as we felt it would make very boring viewing (deed swapping etc). The viewer is supposed to assume the exchange has taken place" - or some other equally irritating comment.
Never prepared to admit when they've made a mistake - that's the good ol' beeb for you!
