My van has started making a screeching niose when the clutch is let out, is this the cam/fan-belt, and does it need to be replaced, is it a serious problem?

It,s probably your clutch release bearing braking up, the gearbox will have to come off to renew it.

It might be as simple as a loose fanbelt. try tightening it.

If it happens especially at moving off from stationary, it is more than likely your fanbelt first as maxi 2 said.

if it only happens when the clutch is released then its the clutch release bearing!!!
