aces and eights again,sorry people

Just wondering if any one else out there would have gone all in on aces and eights in a game of poker (Texas Holden)   i did it tonight, and my back was to the door, Altough it paid off for me would you have done so and if not why?

Totally depends on the number and styles of the players you were up against....was it a cash game or for chips.....how much was all in �10 or �10k....Aces and anything in a heads up ain't a bad bet and can be very strong depending on the flop.

PS The game is called Texas Hold 'em...search on google and you'll find loads of sites giving you tactics.

I wouldn't have taken the risk myself, because I have absolutely no idea what you are on about.
It would really depend on your situation, it's a pretty strong hand and depending on what the other cards were you'd have fairly good odds of winning, in my opinion if your back is to the wall then as soon as you have a decent hand going all in is the best option, you'll only sit waiting for the next decent hand if you don't and if the blinds are quite high you could end up going out without playing a hand at all
