Swearing

Too much swearing, could ther ebe some kind of filter set up? Kids use this site i believe, and when there are loads of F**k off , like in the recent "tuck your blanks into your blanks" question, was a bit abusive.

There is a profanity filter on this site but for some reason some words get through.

I don't know how that got through, maybe becuase it was in caps, and as i don't recognise your name are you newish? Only ask cos if you knew the grief that we've had with the blanks question cheeky monkey's answer seemed perfectly reasonable to me.

I don't know how to write the F word in an answer in a way which avoids the profanity filter, but I know that some people do know how. There are various methods of getting round things, and HTML codes may be one of them. For example, mück should come out as muck with an umlaut on the u (if I remember correctly), and presumably the same word with an F instead of M would get through as well. But I am not technically clever enough to know how to do the u without an umlaut.

If the kids are old enough to use this site then I bet every single one of them hears far worst language than that in the playground everyday. My dad said that he first time he heard me use the 'f' word was when I was 5 years old and I fell off my bike into a patch of stinging nettles!

Your right there Jamie. I admit I am a child (Well I am in secondary school anyway) and It is true about we'd here far more worse language. I know loads of kids in my estate who swear and ae as young as 4 years old.

Also, in lidl (A shop in our town) loads of children were messing in there swinging on stuff and all that. When the security guard sent them out, one of the kids looked at him from the window as he was sent out and was sticking up the finger at him. He was about 5 or 6. On his own with a gang.

And for words getting through to the answer bank.

For example if you want to say (a longer B word for bum then use a zero instead of an o. Use other types and that's how they probably get through. i saw one person use this trick.
