indeed, kempie, I've noticed that often happens... rather more often than I actually preview posts, which is very seldom. And in fact I think the preview function was introduced at the same time as the colour function was disabled, so I shouldn't see them together anyway. So the preview panel is to some other post entirely? And how did beryllium get a version of the page topped with a post she made today?

Regardless of the true author of the thread, if another ABuser views a preview of that thread they will see displayed their own username in the blank box which replaces the question.

even back before the preview function was introduced? So it somehow applies retrospectively? And thus shows beryllium a preview she looked at today, and shows me a preview I never looked at at all. Odd. But computers are very clever things.

It allows you to preview your answer to thread even if that thread is from 2001.

okay, I understand why using the word 'preview' in the link brings it up with a preview box, which shows nothing because I did not post anything on that thread. But why does it show to beryllium a preview of an answer she gave to another question several years later? I'm sure there is some technologic to this, but it eludes me for the moment.

jno - beryllium didn't write "...shows an answer I gave to another question..." but rather <to paraphrase> "a question box with my name in it and today's date along with answers from last year 06/06" which is exactly the same as the rest of us sees.
