I'm looking into applying for a joint honours degree in business and film studies at kingston uni for september 2008 but am not sure I will be accepted. It says on ucas that you need:
Volume and depth of study (GCE A level or equivalent) Minimum number required: 2
Number preferred: 3
Tariff score Points accepted: 220 - 320
GCE A/AS level grade range
GCE AS Acceptability
Acceptable only when combined with other qualifications
GCE A level
Acceptability
Acceptable on its own & combined with other qualifications
Additional Information General Studies only accepted when one of three 6-unit awards
I only have a B in film studies, a C in general studies, a D in english for my A Levels and a D in french and an E in german for my AS levels. This totals to 290 points, is this enough? Many thanks x

Hi becca so sorry for the delay as nobody replied for such a long time, I stopped checking!
Your points are certainly within the accepted range needed for this course at Kingston. Please beware thought that not all universities accept General Studies as a countable A Level anymore, so this may well affect your overall score. It would be best to check with Kingstons admissions office directly to see if this can be counted towards your point or not.
It may also be worthwhile finding out from them whether they require a certain grade in a certain A Level (e.g. a B or above in English) as this may also affect your application.
As you are applying with your grades already known to you, you have an advantage over the current A Level cohort. So really take your time choosing your degree / university of choice, and go an visit them / go to organised open days as this can tell you a lot about the university. You can see the facilities for yourself, and gauge the atmosphere on campus.
Good luck!
