A friends Hubby was given an edible gift by a business colleague as a thank you, let's call him Mr A. Mrs A is in her kitchen talking with someone she knows who sees the gift, let's call her Mrs B, and states ' OH, we love that but it's so expensive, we can't have it often!' , so Mrs A says I would love for you to enjoy it then ... Mrs B takes the gift ... then it becomes apparent ( at a later date) that instead of this being enjoyed by her family ... it has then been sold ( and for a lot of money too!.) I think this is outrageous , do you?

yes, i think its very very cheeky of them to do such a thing. They mustve known that Mrs A gave it to them as a gift and if they didnt want it should have declined.

Mrs A should bill them for it.
It is kinda underhand. Mrs A should demand the money as she gave it to Mrs B on the understanding that she was going to eat it not sell it.
I take it no one else is as nosy as me then? I'm dieing to know what the "edible gift" was!

Rare Caviar ... can't stand the stuff myself ... now I can't look at this woman without thinking you devious ' insert your own expletive' . I wouldn't take anything from anybody under the assumption that I was going to enjoy it ,then flog it on, from a danish pastry to a diamond. It's sooooooooooo wrong.
God the cheeky mare!!! yes I think that is a bit underhand and if it was a friend of mine she wouldn't be a friend for very long!
She should ask for the money that this 'friend' made but I doubt somehow she would get it or gain anything except aggro.
She certainly shouldn't expect a christmas present from Mrs A for a few years!!
Burger me who cares!

I suppose no one has ever been given a gift and passed it on to someone else have they?

Well sadly it appears I care ... I don't re-gift either ! OMG. It is rude to cadge something then flog it! I am obviously just too old-fashioned for modern society.

not very nice at all hate people that dont appreciate anything
to much money i"d say
Yes good point Rev, but this Mrs B was misleading as she said how much she liked it but can never afford it so don't have it often etc. she didn't say "Ooo caviar! that's worth a few bob can I have it to sell on?" It was given as a kind gesture for Mrs B to enjoy and personally I think she abused that.
Similar lines, some years ago my (now ex) husband lent some albums to a friend who then sold them and quite openly told us how much he'd made on the deal. I was too dumbfounded to responded. they then asked if they could have the use of our bunk bedswhich I offered to sell them. Horrified looks how could we sell something to friends. Nowt so queer as folk.
