I have a 2yr old and have recently had twins. Their infant carriers and M&P protec car seat fit fine in the back of our Pugeot 307 but I'm not sure what to do when the twins reach 9mths. Does anyone know of particularly narrow car seats which might fit either side of our other seat in the back seat or am I looking at buying a new car? If so can you suggest a car that's wide enough to take 3 forward facing car seats for 9mths to 4yrs. Help!
Hi, do you know that it is not your babies age that matters when changing car seats its their weight so they might be older than 9 months and that will give you a bit longer unless they are big twins! In relation to the car, my mum has a Citreon Picasso and it is really spacious in the back and has 3 good size seats that you can definately fit 3 car seats into. Congratulations by the way I bet life isn't easy in your house at the moment!
If its a while before the twins are in the next stage car seat then your older child may be big enough by then for one of those boosters with back part you can take off, they are much smaller and you might be able to fit all three in.
You can definitely fit three car seats into the back of a Renault Scenic - the 3 backs seats move back and forward independantly - just like front seats, so you can even pull the middle one forward from the other two which gives you a bit extra room. Doesn't realy help if you want to keep your current car, but I would thoroughly recommend a scenic - it saves you bending down to get them all in and out their seats as well.
dont buy a bmw 3 series you cant get 3 seats in without a struggle. I did manage to purchase a Bubu booster seat off the net which is the narrowest I have found and fits just. I would not recommend it for every day use thpugh as it is a pain. Also at 4 your oldest may not be big enough for it. Good luck but you may have to change the car.
