paint cracking

I have white washed my walls with white paint and the paint has cracked. What can I do about the cracking?

I had the same problem. I scraped as much of it off as possible and roughened the surface by painting on a  sealant mixed with sand and then painted over the lot. It looks okay now.

Actually I inherited the problem, and that was the solution that involved least amount of work.
