Lobster.

Like the advert when a man is asked to imagine his wife getting jiggy with a lobster with its antennae flip flapping over her face, when chosing a lobster to eat, I ask you........
Could you chose your own lobster from an aquarium, knowing that in a few minutes it will be boiled alive whilst its friends are wonderring where it has got to. Only to look through the tank in 10 minutes and see it served on a plate with some iceberg lettuse and cherry toms?
Although no a great fan of sw4nky restaurants, I am of the belief this practice should be banned.

allthough not aversed to killing and cooking lobsters myself, I do agree that the idea of a tank full of them in the resteraunt is rather dated and highly pretencious in this day and age.... lobsters caught can now be delivered anywhere within the uk in hours, where as years ago it was just not possible, (I'm talking 70s here) refrigeration has also come on leaps and bounds since then....saying that....
two friends of mine(one a veggi) while travelling stopped off in Thailand, they went to a resteraunt and not knwing what to order, the meat eater decided to play it safe and order chicken (too many stories about eating dogs) when she ordered the waitress asked "which one you want?" and pointed to the chickens pecking around in the dirt outside..... she said it was very nice, free range and fresh....something tht could not be said about supermarket chickens back home (the veggi-her sister- nearly fainted)
