you can get bay window rails they stick out a bit and they dont come cheap, i have a bay window and i hang mine accross the wall as i couldnt be bothered fitting a rail, also by cutting accross you block the draughts, i draped voille behind my curtains and filled the window full of plants, if you have a wilkinsons store near you yheir curtain fittings are quite cheap ,,mullein

You can get curtain poles or tracks especially for bay windows in most habidashery shops (or however you spell it!).  I think even Arguus (sic) do them.  Bargain.
