I was watching the Paul O'Grady show a couple of weeks ago and he said something about beng on the "lavender bus". I'm assuming the is a Liverpudlian saying.....does anyone now what is means, the meaning behind it and if it is Liverpudlian? Phew....

lavender is or used to be one of those coded words for homosexual, if that's any help. Sounds rather 1950s to me.

In the film, Priscilla was the name of the lavender bus for Queen of the Desert. As said, I think its more of an international (english speaking) euphemism for homosexuality.

I've never heard that expression before, and I live in Merseyside and drive a bus! I'd agree with the above and say it's a reference to homosexuality.
P.S.
I like Paul O'Grady, but he's neither a scouser or a Liverpudlian as he's from Birkenhead.
