Stuck on a few today.

First, 27D - Agree to get a ring (5) C_I_E - looks like CHIME but, other than the ring bit we can't work out where it comes from.

Then we're stuck in the top left too.
1D Officer leads sound Irish force (6) _ _ _ R _ E
2D Man finds a route to European capital (7) _ _ _ N _ R _ although the N may be wrong
8A Crack appearing in a vessel (3-5) _ _ _ _ I _ E _ - possibly air liner????

The 2nd letter of 1 and 2 down are, respectively, the 1st and 3rd letters of 8 across.

I know i'm gonna kick myself but these atre doing my head in!!!

27D CHIME, as a verb, means to be, or act, in accordance with. So that's "agree".
