What is the likelihood of getting a visa to travel from the UK to the US with a driving conviction which led to an 8 month prison sentence? This was over 6 years ago.
Thanks

if you admit it on the visa forms, you will not get a visa.read all the other questions about this, use the visa waiver form on the plane, you will have no problems that way.
Mate already about 2000 posts on this subject lol

Go in on the visa waiver program and dont declare it, US customs have no direct link to UK records so unless you are on the FBI most wanted list you'll be okay
no chane i tried and they seemed to know all about me
TTW american customs have no direct access to UK records so I dont know how they knew all about u if you were entering on the visa waiver.

If you apply for a visa they will know everything so dont lol
Somebody recently mentioned, here on AB, that their partner had been refused a visa because of 2 convictions for driving with no insurance, so it seems quite likely that anyone with a driving conviction which led to a prison sentence would be refused.

The US authorities don't recognize the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act so, as far as they're concerned, your offence will never be spent. (Unless you were aged under 18 at the time of conviction, your offence won't be 'spent' in the UK for another 4 years).

As has been frequently stated, the US authorities have no direct access to UK criminal records so you could probably enter the US (illegally) by simply 'forgetting' about your conviction on the Visa Waiver form.
