any info? why have the beeb sold their rights?

The BBC haven't sold their rights. The rights to show the Simpsons on the BBC simply expired at the end of fix period. So the rights were in effect 'up for grabs' for the highest bidder. The BBC and Channel 4 both put in bids for the rights, and started to compete with each other, both upping the price they were willing to pay. It just so happened that the BBC bottled out as the price got too high for it to justify paying for it. I'm unsure when the Simpsons will start to be shown on C4 though.
There is an new series currently on Sky One every sunday night.  If i'm not mistaken it will be fairly soon, maybe when it finishes on Sky.
