Muliplication formula in excel

I have a column A, in which I need each row multiplied by the same figure, 1.1312. How do I create a formula which will multiply each row to give an amount in Column B? Thanks

Do you mean that you want to be able to enter a number in a cell in Column A and have it multiplied by 1.1312 and the result displayed in the corresponding cell in column B ?

If so you merely need to type the following formula into the first cell in column B and autofill it into all of the other cells in column B:

 =A1*1.1312

In effect all you are doing is saying that cell B1 will equal whatever is in cell A1 multiplied by 1.1312.

Oh...to do an auto fill you just click on a cell and drag the small square that appears in the bottom right corner. This will copy the formula to all the other cells but also increment the cell references.

You can attach the formula to one particular cell by adding dollar signs.  e.g $A$52, if you just want column A, it would be $A52, or if you just wanted row 52, it would be A$52.

You can also put the constant (1.1312)into a cel1 (eg D12) and make the formula B1=A1*$D$12. Then if you want to change the constant in the future,all you need to do is change the contents of cell D12. Good luck.
