I suggest banning any question containing the word pink for two weeks, no matter how many serious questions that actually cancels. Its the same pink questions every day and these people aren't looking through the archives or even going back one page!!!

Even the most cursory web search is going to answer a lot of these questions, even if only with links to the same questions already posted here.  If they can't be bothered with that, they're hardly going to bother searching this site.  I've seen a question posted when the same question, posted by another user, was two from the top of the list!

It'll pass, that's the only consolation.  Mind you, I've just answered the same question for the third time in two days, so maybe I'm just as big a mug.

My intention was not  to impress, but  a light-hearted suggestion of what most of us see, and have seen  regularly for many months - and for some - years.

This is called the 'Answerbank' and particularly when National competitions are in place the search engines direct most posters in this direction, so if you object don't answer them.

I don't know how long you've been on this site, but please remember for every single person there was a first time - and how would you feel if you had an e-mail reply and the answer was  - 'do a search'  'how many more times'  'are you stupid?' or similar.  I know that most of the Q's can be found in a few moments plus there are a number of duplicate Q's - in the case of the latter you may want to use the Report option.

But why on earth don't people report these questions as duplicates instead of just posting irrelevant answers to them??

Hi robbieh, you should also take into account that some of these questions may be posted by children who don't understand how the answerbank works. As this is a family site a little tolerance is required. If you were around when the Marlboro incident kicked off you will understand that a lot of the AB regulars get annoyed at exactly the same things that you have pointed out. As a result of various complaints and requests AB added the report function to stop the site becoming cluttered with complaints. If we all use this function the site will become more usable. Cetti does make a valid point, if it offends you just report it and let AB do its job.

Question is Bacon, did you post that before or after you posted 7 pink related questions in the AB Suggestions section? Oh and the one in travel, god knows anymore anywhere else?!?!? And yes I am counting :-p
