DVD player "freezes" at certain point with ANY dvd disk
7 Answers
OUr dvd player is around 3 years old. lately it seems to "freeze" around 3/4 of the way into any disk we put it. It is so frustrating and we cannot go backwards, forwards, or anything. IT just STICKS on a particular scene. Tried switching it off and starting again but...it freezes in the same spot. It happens to any disk we put in. How frustrating!!!! Any ideas as to what the problem is and how we can fix it?

More likely, the track rails which the read head slides along are dirty. Unfortunately, it means taking the machine apart to access and clean them effectively . Do not attempt this unless you are confident you know what you are doing.
I had this problem with my player, and successfully rectified it, but it was not easy.

thanks philkat...my hub has ordered a lense head cleanerr off ebay so will hopefully work...oin another note ...when i told my hib about nightmares suggestion...he seemd to think that was very plausable too. so will try lense cleaner first and if that doesn't work it's up to my hub to try take it apart...nothing ventured nothing gained eh?
